Just some time back, I was reading the book “Men are from Mars and Women are from Venus” and it was after reading it that made me realised how different guys and girls can be. The differences could be in the mentality, characteristic, behaviour etc.

One very good example is when guys have problems, they often try and solve it themselves instead of looking for help elsewhere whereas for the girls, they would discuss with one another and then solve it together. It actually took me quite some time to understand this point.

Last time, I was puzzled whenever my ex would complain to me about some things and when I offered 32428950285 solutions to her problems, somehow things got worst and i would be very pissed with her cause I felt that my effort aren’t appreciated for and I was making things worst than before. It was only after reading that book that made me realized that what women need are not solutions to her problems but rather a pair of listening ears to hear them out and that by listening to their problems, they would feel much better and not as tense as before. So now, whenever my dear has any anger to vent on me, I would listen 90% of the time and only offered solution for the remaining 10%. But very often, I realise that my solution wouldn’t even be considered at all and I might just devote all my time for pure listening instead. =)

Sometimes I wonder why my dear likes to complain so much. Its not that I have anything against her for doing so but I just feel that by complaining, its not gonna get anything done so why bother to complain? Maybe its because after going through the Army, we guys have been brain-washed into just following orders and no matter how much we hate follow them, we just have to accept it with no questions asked. Maybe it just another characteristic from Venus?

The main reason why I actually bought that book is because I wanna understand more about how woman feels and react and how their actions would differ from the men. And I feel it would aid me in maintaining a happy and healthy relationship with my girl and also probably towards my female colleagues when I get out to work in a few years time. =)
